During its last meeting in Prague, on the 17th of June 2009, the e-Infrastructure Reflection Group finalised and approved its White paper and Recommendations 2009 documents.
The purpose of the e-IRG White Paper is to present key e-Infrastructure areas and topics requiring policy actions, and to propose related recommendations at the national and European levels.
The recommendations document is a distilled document based on the White paper with only one page per section providing the essence in the form of a recommendation with the appropriate introduction and background text.
Seven topics are examined in the two documents: Global Collaboration; Education and Training in the use of e-Infrastructure; Grid and Cloud Computing; Security: a holistic approach; Service-centric e-Infrastructures through virtualisation; Remote instrumentation; Towards sustainability of the computing-related e-Infrastructure.
